Prof. Asma Abdullah

Professor Dr. Asma Abdullah received her medical degree in 1995 and postgraduate Otorhinolaryngology training (2002) from University Kebangsaan Malaysia. She has been working under Prof Dato Dr Lokman Saim since 1998. Along with general ENT Surgical work, she has focused on Cochlear Implants, Universal Newborn, Acoustic Neuroma, Temporal Bone Carcinoma and Cholesteatoma. She sits on many committees related to undergraduate and postgraduate medical training. She has more than 130 publications in major international journals. She is an outstanding teacher and has been duly recognized by UKM and Ministry of Health Malaysia. She has mentored ORL surgeons who hold position of distinction in Malaysia. She also teaches overseas postgraduate students from Indonesia, Myanmar, Yemen, Iran, Libya and Iraq. She is a board exam member for Malaysian Postgraduate ORL Conjoint Exam. She was appointed as member of Clinical Practice Guideline on Otitis Media under Ministry of Health in 2010-2013. She was the chairman of First Kuala Lumpur BAHA workshop in 2010, First and Second Newborn Hearing Screening Seminar in 2011 & 2017.

She has been a recipient of the “Bintang Cemerlang Negeri”/ State Excellent Award by the Penang State Government in recognition of her distinguished and exceptional service in the field of Medicine in 2011. She was also awarded the prestigious ‘Award for Excellence of Service’ from National University of Malaysia in appreciation of contribution to education, service and research in 2006, 2009 and 2020. In 2013, she was awarded as “The most Innovative Outstanding Participant” in National Capacity Building Programme for Innovation and Entrepreneurship Leading to Successful Research Commercialization Workshop by Ministry of Higher Education, UKM and Stevens Institute of Technology, New Jersey, USA. She was the Head of Department of UKMMC since January 2009 till December 2011 and from 2017-2018. Currently she is Professor and Senior Consultant Department of ORL-HNS, chairman of Universal Newborn Hearing Screening Program

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION RULES

All presentations must be submitted through this website. Emailed or faxed papers will not beconsidered.
Submitted abstracts are reviewed according to its sub-specialty. The committee may recommend a different subspecialty for the paper where he/she finds it most suitable.
Presenting author must ensure that all co-authors are aware of the content before submission.
All abstracts must be submitted in clear English form.We accept submissions in Arabic for non-English speaking candidates. Please note it in the body of your submission before the Title .
All accepted presentations titles will be published in the conference website prior to the conference.
You may submit more than 1 abstract.
Abstract title must be brief and concise with a maximum of 15 words.
The abstract text should have a maximum of 250 words only.
An acceptance notification will be sent to the registered email of the submitting author/presenter.
Non members of the Saudi ORL Society are required to register within a week after receiving the acceptance notification via email.
All submissions should be a new submission and not repeated presentation from any previous Saudi ORL conferences. This includes all submissions types.
Make sure you receive an email confirmation of your submission. Otherwise, your submission is not successfully submitted.
